We are honored to have received the Best of West Austin Best Florist designation.We provide same day delivery for birthdays, anniversary, just because, love, I'm sorry, get well, sympathy and any other reason you can think of! If you want to grab and go in the shop, we have ready-made bunches and pre-made arrangements for your convenience. In addition, the flower market is a “create your own” fresh cut flower market where you can build your own arrangement, bundle or single flower bulk, very similar to a European Flower Market…but inside! .
Kim Hume, having experienced the passing of her mother, decided life was too short not to pursue dreams and the corporate world was not for her any longer. She enjoyed arranging flowers, knew others shared the same passion and wanted a better way to express this love. The vision was of a unique flower market and floral design shop that invites customers to experience the joy in choosing their own flowers to create a one-of-a-kind bouquet. The idea of La Fleur Fresh Flower Market was born. A comfortable, community-based shop with fresh ready-to-go arrangements and daily market bunches. La Fleur is a space to provide direction and encouragement to those who want to express themselves and design their own vase of flowers. In addition, it also provides the community with the more typical florist aspects with design-to-order, fresh flower same-day delivery and the option for pick-up of their custom make arrangement.
Designed with a custom walk-in cooler, a DIY counter, a varied selection of vases, an assortment of ribbons, books, and swap cart for customers to bring their unwanted vases. The idea came to life in February 2017 and has continued to bloom from there. Kim added monthly public flower party classes which gained a group of loyal customers that return for every class and always welcome new attendees. Private classes can also be arranged for 6-12 attendees.
From the start, La Fleur is a family endeavor. The idea was developed essentially from Kim’s mother. When Kim was growing up in St. Louis her mother, Alice, was an entrepreneur also. She started a small upscale bathroom accessory shop. She had luxurious towels and unique collections of shower curtains, soap dispensers, soap dishes, toothbrush holders and so on. Her shop name was La Bathtique! So Kim, crediting her mother for instigating the flower shop, named it with her memory firmly in mind. Upon deciding to start a business, Kim’s kids were involved from the get-go. They all celebrated the finding of the perfect spot, bummed out by city permitting delay, and cheered on the day of opening. Whether it was heavy lifting from her son, beginning inventory count from her daughters, welcoming first customers, they all were involved. La Fleur continues to be a “family” endeavor with the community and an abundance of delighted, repeat customers.
